Who I am: Ellix the Husky
This has been a long time coming.
For many, many years my fursona was Ormula. A cyan rabbit with extremely long ears. I loved being them. I transitioned while they were my sona, and they transitioned with me. They embodied a time in my life that I look fondly on, but is certainly a time that I consider “who I used to be”.
Fursonas, to me, are not characters I roleplay; nor do they exist just because I like the way they look and enjoy getting art made of them. This is by no means me throwing any sort of shade at those for whom fursonas are this. It’s extremely valid and, I would guess, the more common feeling among furries. To me, though, my fursona is me. It’s a core part of my identity in a way that is hard to describe. So, “changing my fursona” is something I take very seriously.
Almost an entire year ago, I discovered some things about myself that lead me to do just that. I have said, since then, that I am a husky. Since then, even though I have absolutely internalized that and feel it within me, I haven’t actually sat down and solidified exactly what I look like. I don’t have a ref sheet– I don’t even have a description to start to commission a ref sheet.
I’ve found this a daunting task over this last year. I’ve enmeshed myself further in the furry community over the last few years, and especially in the last year I feel most at home within this community– a community where my fursona is who I am. It’s what people think of when they think of me, when they hear me talk. Designing something so core to my identity seems impossible. How do I even start?
Like this.
Ellix is a non-binary husky with golden colorings. They have the body of a trans woman– hourglass-shaped with small, but noticable breasts, and penis and testicles. Their body fur is mostly bicolored: A base coast of
a subtle, sky blue
and a contrast color a
light pale gold
. The two colors mix in a way that is classic of huskies.
Let’s get more specific. Starting from the top:
They have longer ears than most dogs. Their ears are almost bunny-like, and are extremely expressive. The back and outside fur of their ears are differently colored. While the inside of both ears are the same subtle
sky blue
as their base coat, their left ear’s back and front-rim fur is
a deep black
. Their right ear’s back and front-rim fur, in contrast, is the same
gold
as their secondary color.
They have they two large hoop earrings towards the tip of their
left ear
. On humans this would be two helix piercings. These rings are
metallic, and shiny gold
– note, this will look different from the secondary fur color due to being a different material.
They have
bright pink hair
– a feminine undercut with a hard-line that straddles the line between spikey and “bed head”. At its longest, their hair is 5 inches.
They have pale and soft
amber green
eyes, often surrounded by thick and feminine
black eyeliner
.
While their paws, in typical husky fashion, are the lighter
sky blue
primary color, their paw pads are
bright pink
, to match their hair.
